ABC Bearings, incorporated in 1961, is engaged in business of tapered roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings. The company was established in a technical collaboration with Steyr Diamler Puch, Austria under the name Antifriction Bearing Corporation. The company started its operations by manufacturing thrust bearings.

ABC Bearing’s manufacturing facilities are located at Lonavla in Maharashtra and Bharuch in Gujarat. These facilities are well equipped with various measuring instruments such as surfcom 120a / 480a, talysurf 10, talyrond 100, contour graph, profile projector, ECT hardness checker, waviness meter, anderon meter, universal microscope, backward integration life testing and inspection facility.

The company has sourced technologies for these manufacturing units from BWF-Germany and Famir-Italy. Company has also collaborated with NSK of Japan who is one of the largest bearing manufacturers in the world. These facilities are well equipped.

Milestones

1961- Antifriction Bearing Corporation was incorporated in collaboration with Steyr Diamler Puch AG, Austria

1966- The company widened its product portfolio by manufacturing taper and cylindrical roller bearings.

1980- The company established a manufacturing plant for manufacturing of taper roller bearings located at Bharuch.

1981- ABC Bearings promoted a ring manufacturing company -- MIPCO -- at Bharuch.

1996-The company installed cylindrical roller bearings in collaboration with IZUMI, Japan.

1998-It entered into a technical alliance with NSK, Japan.

2002- The name of the company was rechristened as ABC Bearings

2005- The company implemented SAP ERP system in all offices. Manufacturing capacity of its Lonavala plant was expanded.

2006- The company expanded capacity of its taper and cylindrical roller bearing. 

2007- ABC Bearings received ISO 14001 certification for its quality management. It formed a joint venture company with NSK of Japan to form NSK-ABC Bearings, which is located at Chennai.

Future Plans

In order to provide better products and services ABC Bearings is eyeing alliances with various other companies.
