DCM Shriram Fine Chemicals (DSFCL) was incorporated as a public limited company on September 29, 2021 under the Companies Act, 2013 and a certificate of incorporation dated September 30, 2021 was issued by Central Registration Centre. DSFCL is one of the leading producers in the World for Pharmaceutical Intermediates, particularly in the Anti-Infective segment using Optical Isomer separation as its core competence. The company is also engaged in contract manufacturing and research for global pharmaceutical companies, leveraging these technologies to produce intermediates for various drug segments. Its chemical business has successfully absorbed 'state-of-the-art' technologies through affiliations with European companies, which have been crucial for upgrading its manufacturing processes and product portfolio.
Earlier, the company was a wholly owned subsidiary of DCM Shriram Industries limited. Pursuant to the scheme of arrangement becoming effective on December 17, 2025, the chemical business of DCM Shriram Industries Limited got demerged and vested in new entity with effect from April 1, 2023.
Fine Chemical business started in early 1970s with a manufacturing facility in Daurala (near Meerut), Uttar Pradesh using chemical processes with Photochlorination of Toluene, Cyanation etc. Over time, DCM Shriram Industries leveraged its process expertise to develop and manufacture value-added products and derivatives, with Photochlorination and Cyanation forming its core technological strengths. In 1994, a new unit was set up as a separate company namely Daurala Organics Limited, to produce high value/ high technology drug intermediates. Affiliations with three European companies were established to obtain state-of-the-art technology. This company was later merged into DCM Shriram Industries Limited.

Milestones/ Major events
- 2021: Incorporation of the company as a wholly owned subsidiary of DCM Shriram Industries limited.
- 2025: The new structure, which officially took effect on December 17, 2025, separated the chemical and drug intermediates assets into its own standalone company with name DCM Shriram Fine Chemicals Limited.
- 2026: The newly formed entity was listed and began trading independently on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on February 17, 2026.
