Godrej Agrovet (GAVL) is a diversified, Research & Development focused agri-business company, dedicated to improving the productivity of Indian farmers by innovating products and services that sustainably increase crop and livestock yields. The company holds leading market positions in the different businesses in which it operates - Animal Feed, Crop Protection, Oil Palm, Dairy and Poultry and Processed Foods. The company has a pan India presence, and its teams worked closely with Indian farmers to develop large Oil Palm Plantations which is helping in bridging the demand and supply gap of edible oil in India.
In the crop protection segment, the company meets the niche requirement of farmers through innovative agrochemical offerings. The company, through its subsidiary Astec Life Sciences Limited, is also a business-to-business (B2B) focused bulk manufacturer of fungicides & herbicides. In Dairy and Poultry and Processed Foods, the company operates through its subsidiaries Creamline Dairy Products Limited and Godrej Tyson Foods Limited. Apart from this, the company has a joint venture with the ACI group of Bangladesh for animal feed business in Bangladesh.
The company was incorporated as Godrej Agrovet Private Limited on November 25, 1991 in the state of Gujarat as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956. The company became a deemed public limited company under Section 43A(1) of the Companies Act, 1956, and the word “private” was struck off from the name of the company with effect from April 27, 1992. Pursuant to the company passing a resolution under Section 21 of the Companies Act, 1956, the company was registered as a public limited company with effect from August 26, 1994. Subsequently, the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat issued a fresh certificate of incorporation dated February 19, 2002 consequent upon conversion, recording the change of the company’s name to ‘Godrej Agrovet Limited’.

- 2026: Launched a new insecticide TAKAI, developed for rice crops. Powered by Cyclapryn technology developed by ISK Japan, TAKAI is effective against key rice pests, Stem Borer and, also controls Leaf Folder.
