La Opala RG Limited is a public limited Company incorporated in India with its registered office in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The Company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Opal glass making, first perfected in France, was transplanted to India in 1988 by LaOpala, a grand, 70 years presence in the national glass industry. Since then, the company has made it its mission to bring the beauty of opal glass home to Indians and Laopala’s endeavour and commitment has created waves in the lifestyle market.
The company was promoted by the Jhunjhunwala family the main promoter was Sushil Jhunjhunwala and his son Ajit Jhunjhunwala. The company entered the crockery market and introduced a wide range of opalware with a capacity of 688 tonnes per annum at Madhupur Bihar. The main object of the company is to manufacture glass and glass products of all types.
The company with its endeavour to make its presence felt in the international market started exporting its products with the first consignment leaving the Indian port in 1993. Since then the company had registered a phenomenal growth in export and is currently exporting to various countries which includes USA, UK, France, Spain, Italy and Middle East nations.

Diva: Diva offers a premium range of products under five collections - Classique, Ivory, Cosmo, Quadra and Sovrana
Solitaire: ‘Solitaire’ markets crystal glassware.

- 1987: The journey began for La Opala Glass Private Limited.
- 1988: Pioneering in opal glass technology in India, the first opal glass plant was set up at Madhupur, Bihar
- 1988: Witnessed overwhelming market acceptance.
- 1991: La Opala earned the honour of being the first exporter of opal glass Tableware.
- 1995: La Opala became the first Public Limited tableware company.
- 1996: Pioneered 24% Lead Crystal Glassware technology in India and set up the first Crystal Glass plant at Madhupur, Bihar.
- 1996: Launched India's first 24% Lead Crystal Glassware, under the brand name 'Solitaire'.
- 1997: Became the first Indian company to export 24% Lead Crystal Tableware.
- 1999: The merger of La Opala Glass Ltd, with Radha Glass & Industries Ltd, forming La Opala RG Ltd.
- 2005: Received the honour of recognition as Export House from the Government of India.
- 2007: First Indian Company to supply 24% Lead Crystal Glassware to world renowned Rosenthal.
- 2007: Fully automatic state-of-the-art plant set up at Sitargung, Uttarakhand, to produce worldclass opal glass tableware.
- 2008: Witnessed the launch of 'Diva', the hi-tech, worldclass opal brand in the premium segment.
- 2011: Ranked as 250 among the top 400 small cap companies of India, by Dalal Street.
- 2012: The company completed the major expansion plan at their Sitargunj, Uttarakhand plant.
- 2013: Awarded with the prestigious Economic Times Bengal Corporate Awards for the Best Entity in Innovation in Business Model.
- 2014: La Opala shares were split from Rs 10 face value to Rs 2.
- 2015: Second additional Furnace with a press line was installed at the Sitargunj Plant.
- 2016: Grand launch of “SOVRANA” and “QUADRA” from the Sitargunj Plant.
- 2016: The Decal Plant was set up at the Sitargunj Plant.
- 2018: The Capacity of the Second Furnace was increased.
- 2018: Launched the Cosmo Collection - Catering to the HORECA Segment (Hotels, Restaurants & Caterers).
- 2019: The company commissioned its Sitargunj facility through a mix of debt and internal accruals.
