Lumax Automotive Systems was found in 1945. For more than six decades, Lumax has focused on value creation for automotive industry and market. They have given the exceptional designs, quality and innovative products.

Business area of the company

The company’s principal activity is to manufacture and supply automotive components. The products include oil/air filters and cleaners, rear view mirrors for vehicles and plastic moduled auto components, blow moulding and injection moulding parts and sheet metal components. These products are used in passenger cars, utility vehicles, light and heavy commercial vehicles, tractors and farm equipments, earth moving equipments and two and three wheelers. 

Milestones

• 1945- SC Jain, Chairman, established a trading concern.
• 1955-66- Manufacturing units were set up for automotive lighting equipment and other components.
• 1975- Manufacturing unit set up for automotive filters and cleaners.
• 1977-79- Manufacturing units became functional at Faridabad and Pune.
• 1984- Lumax became a widely held public company and also undergone technical agreement with Stanley Electric Company, Japan.
• 1996- Technical agreement with Toyo Roki, Japan for filter.
• 2000- ISO: 9002 & QS- 9000 certification to mirror division of Faridabad.
• 2003- Demerger of Lunax Industries & Lumax Automative Systems.
• 2004- ISO/ TS: 16949 accreditation to mirror division, Faridabad from UL India.
• 2004- Merger of Toshi Auto Industries with Lumax Automative Systems.
• 2005- Joint venture with Magna Donnelly for rear view mirror.
• 2006- ISO/TS: 16949 accreditation to Lumax Automative, Manesar from UL India.
