Maikaal Fibres was incorporated as a Public Limited Company on April 12, 1991 and obtained certificate of commencement of business on April 24, 1991. The company has been promoted by Mrigendra Jalan of the Jalan Tea Group of companies. The co-promoters are S S Kejriwal and A K Himatsingka.

The company specializes in producing middle-staple yarns suited for knitwear and woven yarns suitable for clothing and home textiles. It has its manufacturing unit in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh with an installed capacity of 25,776 spindles and 120 MTPA knitted fabric.

In the year 2006, the company initiated the restructuring process approved by asset reconstruction company India. It has been suspended from BSE on account of non disclosure of listing agreement clauses.
