Micro Plantae was incorporated on July 13, 1989 as a private limited company and converted into a public limited company on January 31, 1992. The registered office is located at Madam Cama Road, Mumbai.

It has been engaged in the business of tissue culture .The company is operating through its divisions of planting material, potato seeds, floriculture and horticulture. The company had implemented projects of true potato seeds and strawberries and acquired a controlling stake in Temptation Foods, an export-oriented unit producing individually quick frozen fruits and vegetables near Pune.

The company has been suspended from the BSE for more than three years on account of non-compliance with listing agreement clauses.
