Norben Tea & Exports was originally incorporated as Daga Plantations in the early 90s. Norben has been promoted by Sri Manoj Kumar Daga, a scion of the well known Daga family of Kolkata who gained vast experience in maintaining and managing tea estates along with marketing of teas. The family has been engaged in the business of growing, manufacturing and marketing of tea for three generations and some of the tea estates have even received the Tea Board Award for highest productivity.

A new generation tea producing company, Norben has established new tea plantations and a new factory in the traditional tea growing area of Berubari in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal, to manufacture tea with an installed capacity of 12 Lakh Kgs. of made tea, per annum.

After successfully launching its produce which is well accepted in the market in bulk and consumer packs for retail consumption, the company has entered into an arrangement with Arambagh Hatcheries for sale of Norben teas at Arambagh Food Mart outlets. The company has already sent its teas for sale under the Tea Post Service of India Post; Norben is now thinking to start up its own outlets. In Kolkata it has also applied for its own small stalls at prominent places inside the stations of Metro Railway, Kolkata.

The garden has good education, health, housing and other facilities, which makes it eligible for membership to the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP).
