Milestones

  • 1907: Originally founded by Sven Wingquist following his invention of the self-aligning ball bearing.
  • 1923: Started the trading operations in then Calcutta (now Kolkata).
  • 1961: Incorporated the ‘Associated Bearing Company’.
  • 1964: Started the first factory in Pune for the manufacturing of rolling bearings.
  • 1989: Started the second factory in Bengaluru to meet the needs of customers in India and abroad.
  • 2004: Inaugurated an Application Development Centre in Bengaluru to support local customer needs.
  • 2010: Opened two new factories in Haridwar and Ahmedabad to meet the growing demand in India across the automotive and industrial segments.
  • 2011: Opened a Global Technical Centre in Bengaluru for end-to-end engineering and technology solutions.
  • 2012: Established Seals factory in Mysore to serve customers within the automotive, railway, and industrial application segments.
  • 2021: Inaugurated a Remanufacturing Centre in the Ahmedabad factory to contribute to sustainability and circularity goals.
  • 2022: Installed state-of-the-art facilities for the Truck Hub Unit (THU) Pune plant.
  • 2023: Pune and Bengaluru factories got certified under SPS Phase 2.
  • 2023: Installed new DGBB channel at Pune factory.
  • 2024: Installed new HUB1 channel in Pune factory.
  • 2025: Addition of capacity on HUB1T (Taper HUB Bearing) Pune Plant.
  • 2025: Installation of new channel for UC Insert bearing Pune Plant.
  • 2025: Addition of capacity for CRB at Bangalore Plant.
