Titagarh Steels Ltd.(TSL) formerly the Titagarh Industries Ltd. was incorporated on August 17, 1981 as a company with limited liability and commenced business by taking over the Steel Foundry Division of Britannia Engineering Company Limited (in liquidation). Post modernization of the facilities TSL commenced commercial production with initial capacity of 4800 M.T. per annum which was soon enhanced to 15000 M.T.

Promoted by J P Chowdhary, an Industrialist with vast experience of 45 years in the Industry, TSL is managed by a Board of Directors comprising eminent professionals and the day to day affairs of the company are looked after by J P Chowdhary, Chairman & Managing Director assisted by a team of dedicated personnel.

Titagarh Steels Limited (TSL) is a manufacturer of value added alloy steel castings used as critical components for Railway Wagons and other heavy engineering products.

TSL owns a modern steel foundry spread over 9.16 Acres of land situated at Titagarh, District North 24 Parganas in the State of West Bengal strategically located about 20 K.M. from the city of Kolkata and is primarily engaged in the business of ferrous and non-ferrous metals for the manufacture of general and special castings including bogies, couplers, centre buffer couplers, crossings and other steel castings. 

The foundry at Titagarh granted Class “A” Foundry status by Research and Development Standard Organisation, Ministry of Railways, Government of India (RDSO) has an installed processing capacity of 15000 M.T. of steel castings per annum, employing Green Sand Moulding technology and is equipped with two Arc Furnaces of 5 M.T. each heat for melting resulting in about 100 M.T. of liquid metal tapped per day.
