Indus Fila part of Bangalore-based Indus Mandhana Enterprises, was incorporated in the year 1999. Indus Fila, the flagship company of the group is a new age fashion and textile manufacturer with sharp focus on design and backward integration capabilities, thriving under the dynamic leadership of Nitin Mandhana, the prime mover of the Company, supported by two other promoter directors - Shashikant Mandhana and Prakash Mandhana. The promoters are from a family which is associated with the textile industry for a long time. They are engaged in yarn dyeing, fabric weaving, fabric processing and apparel manufacturing. The commercial production of Company’s expanded activities - weaving and apparels started in the month of November 2004. Currently they manufacture color dyed, solid dyed fabrics for domestic garment manufacturers and exporters. The apparel manufacturing of Men's Shirts and Ladies Tops is mainly for exports. They have positioned themselves as a multi product, multi fibre and multi market player ensuring that their target market is a diverse mix of the domestic fabrics market, garment export and international market (fabrics exports). They have integrated design-to-delivery capability with emphasis on design excellence and innovative product engineering. They share a close rapport with a number of marquee international and domestic brands - Izod, Arrow, Chaps, Armani Exchange and Levi Strauss. They have multi-locational production and distribution facilities spread across Bangalore and Mysore, viz. Peenya and Nelamangala in Bangalore, Nanjangud in Mysore fully backed up by the facilities for product development, design studio and efficient sampling infrastructure to provide quality services to their customers in India and abroad. They also have distribution facilities in Chennai and Mumbai which gives them advantage of being able to serve their customers from multi-locations. They currently employ over 480 people. The company is engaged in yarn dyeing, fabric weaving, fabric processing and apparel manufacturing. The commercial production of the company`s expanded activities, weaving and apparels started in the month of November 2004.
Currently, the company manufactures colour-dyed and solid-dyed fabrics for domestic garment manufacturers and exporters. The apparel manufacturing of men’s shirts and ladies tops is mainly for exports. The company has positioned itself as a multi-product, multi-fibre and multi-market player ensuring that its target market is a diverse mix of the domestic fabrics market, garment export and international market.
Presently, the company is operating with 156 weaving looms producing approximately 20.80 million meters of fabric per annum and 750 sewing machines with production capacity of 2.7 million garments per annum.

• 1999 Incorporation of Indus Fila Private Limited • 2000 Commencement of business operations with yarn dyeing in Nelamangala. • 2001 Capex incurred to increase capabilities of yarn dyeing. • 2004 Commenced weaving and garmenting activity • 2005 First export order received in February 2005, capex of Rs 870 lakhs for further addition of capacity in weaving and garmenting. • 2006 Agreement entered for acquiring fully integrated weaving, processing and finishing unit in Mysore for a consideration of Rs 90 crores. In May 2006, Sale deed executed for acquisition of the fully integrated weaving, processing and finishing unit in Mysore with a capacity of 50,000 meters per day and a co generation power plant of 6 MW. • 2007 Indus Fila has informed that on July 05, 2007, the Company acquired 51% stake in Indus Garments (India) for a consideration of Rs 93.50 million. Indus Garments is an established player in the apparel manufacturing business with 96.60% of its products being exported to American and European customers. The group has been in the business for over two decades having strong relationships with their customer base. • 2008 The board of directors of Indus Fila, at their meeting held on Mar.11, 2008, decided to acquire Tulip Apparels as a part of its corporate restructuring plan.
Awards and achievement:
• On June 27, 2007, Indus Fila won the ‘Emerging India Award’ in the Textile & Apparel Category. The award was presented jointly by ICICI Bank and CNBC-TV18 and powered by Crisil.
It recognises the indomitable spirit of India’s SMEs and helps them to become even bigger. With expansion, the company’s capacity would go up from 11,000 garments per day to 42,000 garments per day and increase of textile capacity to 1,10,000 meters per day.
Future Plans:
Indus Fila has framed Rs 1,662.4 million expansion plan to augment its capacities in fabric weaving, yarn dyeing, processing, and garment production and also to construct Centre of Excellence. It intends to enhance the capacity of its existing facility of weaving in Nanjangud, Mysore district.
The company is planning to increase the capacity from 59,575 meters to 97,575 meters a day. The company also intends to enhance the capacity of its existing facility of garmenting in Peenya, Bangalore district.
It plans to set up a new garment manufacturing unit in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh to strengthen its fabric business in order to have full control of entire fabric supply chain from yarn dyeing, weaving to processing of fabrics. The company's strategy is to add men and women clothes so as to have adequate diversification in its garmenting business.
The company is also planning to enter into different types of fabrics like linen and garments and also sportswear and swimwear as the current trends show great potential for such products.
