Nachmo Knitex

Nachmo Knitex was incorporated as a private limited company on April 23, 1981 and was subsequently converted into a public company on February 26, 1993. The company, earlier known as Nachmo Polyplast, it got its present name on February 24, 1995. The company is part of the Ashima group, one of India’s leading 100% cotton fabric manufacturers.

A range of textiles are manufactured such as piece-dyed shrink controlled 100% cotton knitted fabrics, mercerized and non mercerized, single jersey, interlock, rib, pique and other derivative structures; tubular and open width, yarn dyed shrink controlled 100% cotton knitted fabrics, feeder and auto stripes, weft corrected, compacted in open width roll form, lycra rib and flat knit accessories- collar, cuff, placket, plain, small structures and tipped, and high value-added products like melange. The knitted range constitutes fabrics for men, women and kidswear such as T-shirts and tops, loungewear, nightwear, undergarments and outerwear.

The manufacturing units are located in the Ahmedabad and Mehsana districts of Gujarat with installed capacities of 2,800 metric tonne par annum processed fabrics and 250 metric tonne per annum processed yarn. Fabrics are supplied to more than 150 Indian garment exporters, and the company has been exporting to over 45 countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Accumulated losses at the end of FY07 have exceeded the net worth of the company and the company has become a sick industrial undertaking.
