The company was originally incorporated in 1909 as Swan Mills Ltd. (SML), a manufacturer and marketer of cotton and polyester textile products in India. Currently, the company is owned and managed by Dave and Merchant families who took over the Company from J.P Goenka Group in 1992. The company forayed into the booming real estate field in 2004, closely followed by its entry into the green energy sector in 2008.

Milestones
- 1992: Originally incorporated in 1909, the textile business is established as Swan Mills Limited in 1992. The facilities included spinning, weaving and processing operations located in Sewri and Kurla in Mumbai.
- 2004: Realty division partners with Piramal Holdings Ltd. to develop land in Mumbai.
- 2008: Swan Mills, renamed as Swan Energy Limited, making the group’s strategic expansion into the energy sector.
- 2009: JV-700MW Gas Based power plant with Gujarat Government.
- 2010: FSRU Initiation, Disinvestment from gas power Plant Investment in Tier II Tier III cities
- 2011: Textile division commissions a new state-of-the-art processing unit in Ahmedabad with a capacity of 2 million meters per month.
- 2012: Swan LNG initiates work on an FSRU-Based LNG terminal at Jafrabad, Gujarat.
- 2013: 'Environment clearance for the development of project 'Floating Storage and regassification Unit (FSRU)' based LNG import terminal near Pipavav, Gujarat'.
- 2013: Development of the Project “Greenfield LNG Port Terminal with Floating Storage and regassification Unit (FSRU)' at Jafrabad, Gujarat'.
- 2013: Swan LNG becomes wholly owned subsidiary of Swan Energy
- 2013: Realty division completes 2.17 lakh sq. ft. at Kurla IT park, leased to Equinox Business Park.
- 2016: Swan Energy signed a MOU with Petronasr and Alpha Energy Ltd.
- 2016: Swan Energy received approval from Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) for commencement of construction of LNG terminal in Gujarat.
- 2016: Swan LNG begins port development for the LNG terminal in Jafrabad, Gujarat.
- 2017: Realty division completes 2.91 lakh sq. ft. Technova Business Park in Hyderabad, leased to Google.
- 2020: Textile division certified under the Organic Cotton Standard (OCS) & Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
- 2021: Textile division processing capacity increases from 2 million meters to 3 million meters per month.
- 2022: Launch of Cardinal One, a luxury residential project in Bengaluru.
- 2023: The group acquires a majority stake in Veritas (India), strengthening trading & distribution presence in petroleum and petrochemicals.
- 2024: Swan Energy takes management control of RNEL to restore Pipavav Shipyard in Gujarat.
- 2025: Post RNEL’s acquisition, India’s largest shipyard resumes trading on BSE/NSE as Swan Defence and Heavy Industries (SDHI).
- 2025: The name of the company has been changed from ‘Swan Energy Limited’ to ‘Swan Corp Limited’ with effect from July 29, 2025.
- 2026: Wins India’s first-ever chemical tanker order & one of the largest commercial shipbuilding delas for six 18,000 DWT vessels from European shipowner Rederiet Stenersen AS.
