Voith Paper Fabrics India Ltd (VPFI) was incorporated in 1968 with major shareholding being with Porritts & Spencer, UK which later became a part of Scapa Group of UK. In 1999 majority of the shares were acquisitioned by world renowned VF Auslandsbeteiligungen GmbH, Germany. The company got name of Voith Paper Fabrics India (VPFI) under the Voith Group on November 29, 2007.
